Wind, water and cloud forms

In this recording, I share my practice with wind, water and clouds. I demonstrate three connected effects that I call air kinesis, water kinesis and cloud forming.

Experience account by Denis Pingin

Watch the recording

10 minutes 17 seconds. No speech.

The video was sped up to 4× its original speed to make the effects more visually prominent. No other processing was applied.

The view takes in a mountain lake, with me at the water’s edge facing away from the camera. Mountains and clouds fill the background, and ripples and reflections are visible on the water.

What I notice

The wind accompanying the practice interacts with the water, creating distinct, irregular patterns on its surface.

In the clouds, I see recognizable forms such as animals and other characters. I experience the practice as increasing and sustaining the order in these forms. I also recognize animal and character forms in the wave patterns on the water.

The recording brings these observations together as one experience. Keeping them together lets you follow their relationship and consider what you notice for yourself.

From practice to a wind study

The Lovefield project’s first wind study takes up the question of wind response during practice. It focuses on wind speed at one fixed point, comparing specified movements and changes in muscle tension with maintaining their starting state. Randomly assigned instructions and independently validated physical controls would help us examine whether a repeatable response occurs and whether ordinary causes, acting together, can account for it.

Preliminary wind study is already funded and underway. Its measurements will help shape the later wind response study, giving us another way to examine the wind response alongside the experiences shared here.

What do you notice?

What do you notice in the wind, water and clouds? If you share an observation, include the time in the recording so others can find the same moment. Different readings of the same pattern are welcome.
